Crash
Last Friday, I was tasked to cover Typhoon Ondoy while it landfalls into Aurora. But God was good, it was weaker than predicted and in the morning of Friday, it was all sunshine.
Scenes from an accidental vacation. Had my deepest sleep when I was there in Baler, Aurora. I think the beachfront faces the Pacific Ocean already.

There was a discussion though on your use of the term nabalahaw when you reported from Maria. Nice to hear that you enjoyed Baler!
The paradox of that part of Luzon (eastern coast facing the Pacific) is that the beach offers much calm and serenity to the weary.
Yet so much social tension and unrest goes on inside the hearts and minds of a lot of people there.

From Baler, yes.
A lot of people say that it's a good place. Pahinungod guys, officemates, you. I find the trip traumatic though.
We used to be provincemates (you're from Quezon right?) but that was only until 1978. :D
the trip, yeah, tell me about it. good thing i wasn't driving (don't know how anyway, so i slept through the whole trip.)
but the pantabangan road was something! felt like going passing through a forest (we're waiting to be ambushed ehehehe).
re: aurora and quezon. they broke up in '78? i didn't know that. thought it was until recently. i meant, the province not the couple eheehe.
I'll make a blog entry on it soon, with pictures, but to say that the trip is a walk in the park, might as well sail to Mindoro on a typhoon.
We used to say that travelling to Baler is like putting one foot in your grave, when the Baler-Bongabon road was open. The Pantabangan route is tamer and offers more views. If you want forests, pick the Bongabon route (but I believe it's still closed).
